September 2023

SENIOR WARDEN NOTES

It is hard to believe that I am writing the September column already. Where did the summer go?! It is now time for us to focus on the Fall season here at St. Paul’s. This column will be shorter due to an earlier September Epistle deadline and other obligations. We will have 2 Holy Eucharist services and 2 Liturgy of the Word services in September. We will also have coffee hours on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.

Please note: This 2nd paragraph was re-written after an evening Vestry meeting on 8-28-23 that also included the Interview Committee members. August was a very busy month for the Interview Committee, which has continued to work hard on required documents and other steps in order to keep things moving forward. Also, the Interview Committee members and Vestry met with a representative from the Holy Cow survey company in August to discuss the results and interpretation of the survey data. The Vestry also met with Canon David Getreu from the Diocese in August to discuss our finances and investments plus possible options for our future here at St. Paul’s. As noted, the Vestry and Interview Committee then met on 8-28-23 as a follow-up to the meeting with Canon Getreu. We decided that we need to look into our investments further so that we have a better picture as to our next steps with a Priest position. We will also be looking into some other possible options. We are moving forward with optimism and will keep you posted on this continuing process. Please continue to keep St. Paul’s in your prayers and enjoy the lovely month of September.
