January 2023

SENIOR WARDEN NOTES:

January has arrived and it will be the start to a very pivotal year for our church. Let us open our hearts and minds to the light of Jesus Christ as we begin this new month. I believe that good things are in store for us but we must trust in God’s plan for us and remain hopeful as our faith so often asks of us. This is the time to renew our faith and focus on lives full of kindness and love for each other every day. Our work as
Christians continues and it is more important than ever in a hurting world. The last few years have been difficult due to the pandemic and the sudden departure of Father Wayne last year for an Interim position. The Vestry did offer him a very nice contract extension but he wanted to try something different prior to retirement. It is now time for all of us to come together for the future of our beloved St. Paul’s.

Your Vestry has been busy discerning the next steps for St. Paul’s and we have just informed the Diocese that we wish to move forward with a search for a new full time Priest. There will be more up-dates to share as we move forward in this journey.

There will be no service on January 1, New Year’s Day. We will have two Holy Eucharist services this month with Father Brown Mujete and we will have two Liturgy of the Word services. Also, we will have our Annual Parish Meeting and a Carry In meal after our service on January 22. Please plan to be with us at this important meeting as we discuss the status and plans for our church. Your thoughts and input are valued. Also, if you would like to run for a Vestry position please let me know as soon as possible. It is a great way to help out at this important time in the life of our beloved church.

Take care and see you in January.
