February 2023

SENIOR WARDEN NOTES:

It is mid January as I write this column and by the time you read this we will have held our Annual Meeting on January 22, 2023. I hope that most of you were able to attend it but if not, you are welcome to get a copy of the Annual Meeting Report. It has the 2022 reports from your Senior and Junior Wardens, Financial reports, Outreach report, and much more. There will be extra copies on the table beside the Lounge area or we would be glad to mail a copy to you. Please contact the church office at 937-548-5575 if you would like to have a copy mailed to you.

I would like to emphasize part of my Senior Warden report from the Annual Meeting. We have much work to do in this transitional and pivotal year. I urge everyone to remain optimistic and hopeful as we do the daily work to keep our beloved St. Paul’s Episcopal Church running as smoothly as possible. We also need to remember our mission statement of “Helping all people find a connection to God’s community”. We need to care for all of our members as well as reaching out to others around us. This would also be a great time to invite a friend or family member to join you on a visit to St. Paul’s. We are a church family and we need to remain strong and faithful this year as we discern what plan God has in store for us.

Our February calendar will include Holy Eucharist on three Sundays. We will have another supply Priest, Rev. Dr. Daniel Linnenberg, with us for two of those Sundays. We will also have a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on February 21 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Your Vestry will be cooking and serving the meal so please join us! Ash Wednesday is on February 22 and Lent will begin on the same date. Take care and see you in February.
