July 2024

SENIOR WARDEN NOTES

July is upon us already and we have a lot going on at St. Paul’s. We will have 2 Holy Eucharist services and 2 Liturgy of the Word services in July. We continue to have lovely services with meaningful plus educational meditations and sermons. We also have good fellowship every time, even if it is not a “coffee hour” Sunday! Please be sure to continue to visit St. Paul’s each Sunday and support us however you can. Everyone has something that they can do from doing readings, to sitting with a visitor to help guide them through a service, to offering a kind word to someone in need.

Also, I will share an update re: the shared ministry arrangement that we are working on with St. James, Piqua. As of this writing (6-19-24) we have finalized a draft 3 year Covenant Agreement between the 2 churches. The Bishop will then review it and if she okays it then each Vestry will vote to approve it. The Senior Wardens will sign off on it, as well as Missioner Rev. Derrick Fetz, Bishop Kristin Uffelman White, and Rev. Canon Michael Spencer. Rev. Fetz also has worked with St. James re: a brief, updated Parish Profile. After this is all done the Diocese can then advertise for a part time Priest for our 2 churches. Once resumes are received they will screen those for those Priests who they feel would be the best “fit” for us. Each church will interview the applicants separately, then together. There are many more steps but this gives you an idea of the sequence. Please keep our beloved church and St. James in your prayers as we continue in this process to find the Priest who will lead us forward in so many good ways. We are getting very close!

Please join us in July!
