On Feb. 11, the Outreach Committee met for the first organization of the year to discuss plans for the year to come.

First the committee discussed what events we participated in last year and agreed to continue to participate in this year. These projects are: supporting three families with food certificates worth $125 at Easter and $300 at Christmas; collect donations for the Darke County United Way Stuff-A-Bus campaign with matching donation approved by the Vestry; provide half-day staffing of the Spiritual Life Center Building during the Darke County Fair; provide popcorn and water during the Downtown Greenville Car Show collecting donation for Grace Resurrection Community Center; provide half-day staffing of a donation kettle at Eikenberry’s IGA for the Community Unity Christmas Fund Drive; continue collection for GRCC during weekly worship with monthly delivery.
The committee also made plans to increase the parish’s collaboration with local Christian-based non-profit organizations. Chris Nelson and Joe Grilliot will work with GRCC to explore additional options for supporting this organization through food and clothing resources. Chris will also set up a meeting with leadership at Community Unity to determine how we can continue to support that organization’s efforts. Finally, we will be researching the current status of FISH in the area and how we can assist that emergency food assistance program.
Joe will be contacting points of contact at the Diocese to discuss the potential of live streaming our Sunday worship services and to investigate the feasibility and potential cost.
Finally, the Joe Grilliot has accepted the chairperson for this committee moving forward in 2026.
We hope we can increase St. Paul’s Episcopal outreach impact by always asking: “Who are the people in our community that are living on the margins? And how is Jesus inviting us to seek and serve them?”
