SENIOR WARDEN NOTES
January will be another full month for us at St. Paul’s. Epiphany is on January 6th and it is the commemoration of the visit of the Magi to the infant Jesus. We will have Holy Eucharist on 3 Sundays this month and we will see a familiar face when Rev. Charlie Brumbaugh supplies for us on January 21st. He grew up here at St. Paul’s along with his siblings PJ and Mary. He preached his first sermon here during the 1st Sunday of Advent in 1983 during seminary so this will be kind of a full circle moment. We are all looking forward to seeing him.
We will also have our Annual Meeting and Carry In on Sunday, January 28th. We do have some Vestry openings and volunteers are welcome. Please let us know if you might be interested in these important positions of leadership for your church. Also, I would like to step down if possible. I have now served on the Vestry for 12 of the past 13 years, with the last two as Senior Warden while without a Priest for the last 1 1/2 years of my term.
Also, the Vestry is continuing to look at some form of shared ministry with a nearby Episcopal church. We are still in the initial stages of this exploration. Also, looking ahead, Bishop Elect Rev. Kristin Uffelman White will be ordained by the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio on February 17th. She will be visiting us here at St. Paul’s on Sunday, June 30th. The Bishop’s office has asked us to let them know as soon as possible if we might have any candidates for confirmations ,receptions to our church, or baptisms. If you are interested in any of these please let me know right away.
Please join us this month! Have a safe and blessed January!
Kim Bohler, Senior Warden
